UNFOLDING
2003
Silk threads
500 x 330 cm
Unfolding is a site-specific response to the slightly raised loading area in a derelict warehouse in Hull/UK.
In the corner between goods lift and scale a skein of grey shaded silk threads is tied into a knot. The threads fan out upward towards the ceiling where they are attached in a straight line. With the processes of weighing and lifting in mind, this piece is a delicate three-dimensional drawing about gravity and lightness.
